How it started
Leaving work is one of the biggest changes there is, and almost nobody prepares you for the Tuesday morning afterwards. The diary empties. The people you saw every day are suddenly a text message away. The advice on offer is mostly about money, and very little of it is about the days themselves.
We watched our own parents go through it, then spent hundreds of conversations with people in the middle of it. What we heard again and again wasn't sadness exactly, more a shrug. And underneath it, the same pattern: the people doing well had found the right routine, the right people, something to look forward to, mostly by chance. The ones struggling hadn't, and there was very little out there to help.
So we built LivOn: an app made entirely for this chapter, and the people living it.
We're a small team in the UK, working with coaches, psychologists and retirees.
Our mission
One in three people struggle to find their footing after work ends.
We think that's a solvable problem, not an inevitable one. Right now, how well this chapter goes comes down largely to luck: whether you happened to find the right people, the right routine, the right sense of purpose. There's very little out there to help if you don't. We're on a mission to change that, and help everyone make the very most of their longest chapter.
